Community Involvement

HHS Drilling and Blasting is a proud sponsor of various Sporting events in our community.

HHS Charity Fund

The HHS Charity Fund is an volunteer organization funded by HHS Drilling and Blasting dedicated to raising money in support of childhood cancer.

The Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, has a Paediatric Out-Patient Clinic which provides chemotherapy treatments to more than 100 children from Southern Vancouver Island. The team of medical professionals work in conjunction with the medical staff at BC Children’s Hospital. Having treatment available on Vancouver Island allows these children to maintain normalcy in their life and alleviates the tiresome travel to Vancouver that can be difficult for children with compromised immune systems. Having treatment close to home also decreases the financial strain for parents which causes added stress. Being home in your familiar surroundings and close to family is essential to coping with the heartbreaking and challenging effects of chemotherapy.

The HHS Charity Fund began in 2005 shortly after our daughter, Jaimey was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After countless hours in hospital we recognized a need to raise awareness and funds for children in our community undergoing cancer treatment.

Charity Golf Classic

The Westshore Masters Charity Golf Classic is sponsored by HHS Drilling and Blasting and hosted at the Bear Mountain Westin Golf and Country Club. Enough money has been raised to purchase a cardio-respiratory monitor, a device which monitors vital signs when kids undergo conscious sedation during intense chemotherapy treatments.

The Westshore Masters Golf Classic raised over $50,000 this year, all of which went toward enhancing the Victoria General Hospital's Pediatric Oncology Clinic. With the continued support of the Westshore Masters and HHS Drilling and Blasting, children and their families on Vancouver Island coping with cancer treatment can receive quality care close to home. Our efforts continue to support other pediatric oncology initiatives.
